Sep 17, 1735: John Wilbourne witnesses the will of Jonathan Chambers; admin: Israel Dickins; other wit: Henry Freeman and Wm Greene (Book 8, p. 520).

July 1742-Aug 1742: An indenture of bargain and sale between James Mathews and Jane his wife of the one part and Valentine Bostock of the other part with a memorandum of livery and seisin (sic) and receipt thereon endorsed were proved by the oaths of James Banks and John Wilborn two of the witnesses thereto who also deposed that they saw Thos. Mathews the other witness thereto subscribe his name thereto as such and by the court ordered to be recorded. (Surry County, Virginia, Court Records, 1741-1745, Book VIII, [41]-41)

Feb. 1746: An indenture of bargain & sale between John Pearson of the other part and William Wilburne of the other part and the memorandum of livery and seizing (sic) there on endorsed were acknowledged by the said John Pearson, and by the court ordered to be recorded; and Mary wife of the said John also personally appeared in court and being first privily and apart from her said husband examined freely relinquished her right of dower to the thereby conveyed lands and premises. Dec 1748: An indenture of bargain and sale between Joseph Moody of the one part and John Wilburn of the other part and the memorandum of livery & seizing (sic) thereon endorsed were acknowledged by the said Joseph and by the court ordered to be recorded (Surry County, Virginia, Court Records, 1746-1748, Book IX, [370]-514)

Aug 1749: An indenture of bargain and sale between Michael Hill Sr. of Surry Co. of the one part and Michael Hill Jr. of the same place of the other part was proved to be act and deed of Michael Hill sr. by the oaths of Thomas Oliver, William Wilburn, & William Oliver there witnesses thereto and by the court ordered to be recorded (Surry County, Virginia, Court Record, 1749-1751, Book X, [79]-1)

Aug 20, 1751: Account of Estate of William Richardson, dec’d, lists Richard Hill, Maj. Robert Wynne, Charles Dellehay, Joshua Ellis, Thomas Wynne, John Wilborne, William Malone, and Robert Jones, Jr. (William Lindsay Hopkins, Surry County Deeds, Wills, Etc. #9, 1738-1754, p. 766)

June 1752: Ordered that William Gillam, John Tyus, and James Jones and John Wellburn or any three of them being first sworn before a justice of the peace of this county do appraise in current money the slaves and personal estate of Catherine Williams deceased and return appraisement to the Court. Jan 1753: Ordered that Mary Randall pay unto John Welborne a witness for her against George Robertson three hundred and sixty-five pounds of Nett tobacco for two days attendance at this court and for coming one hundred and five miles and returning, according to law. Note: James Judkins sells to William Rainey 275 acres on north side of little creek of Three Creeks (being granted to James Judkins on Feb. 22, 1724) and bounded by Thomas Jackson. Dec 12, 1735: Robert Cossans and wife Sarah Cossans sells to John Wilbourn 100 acres on south side of Nottoway River and bounded by Edward Goodrich at High Hills and Lewis Green (being part of 420 acres granted William Jones, Jr. on 28 Sep 1730 and by him sold to Sarah Cossans on 21 Jul 1731). Feb 6, 1746: John Pearson and wife, Mary Pearson of Surry County to William Wilburn of Brunswick County for 20 pounds current money . . .140 acres in Albemarle Parish on north side of Nottoway River (being part of a tract of 440 acres granted to John Mitchell on 5 Sep 1721. Part being sold to John Spain in 1727) and bounded by Stoney Creek Pond. Wit: Thomas Oliver, William Oliver, George (X) Pasmore, Agnes (X) Oliver, and William (X) Pearson; signed: John Pearson; rec: 21 Jan 1746 (Surry County Deed Book #4, 1741-1746, p. 499)

Oct 5, 1748: John Wilburn Sr. of Surry Co. to James Oliver of Brunswick Co. 40 lbs (money). 290 acres with its plantation (100 acres of which had been a patent to William Melton dated 1724; 190 acres of which had been a patent to sd John Wilburn dated 1730, joining William Melton, Lawrence House. Wit: Thomas Oliver, John (X) Wilburn Jr., John Pas. Proved 6 Oct 1748. Probate indicates Anne, wife of said Wilburn relinquished her right of dower. St. Clack, CC. (Brunswick Co. Deed Book 3, [244]-485; note: another deed abstract book says land located in St. Andrew’s Parish, Brunswick Co.)

Nov 10, 1748: Joseph Moody of Northampton Co. in North Carolina to John Wilbourn, Jr. of Surry County for 30 pounds current money . . .250 acres in Albemarle Parish on south side of Nottoway River (100 acres being formerly granted to Robert Rogers by the raccoon swamp and Silvanus Stokes). The other 150 acres was formerly granted to the said Joseph Moody in 1730 and is bounded by the south side of Raccoon Swamp, and said Moody’s other line, Silvanus Stokes, Charles Judkins, and William Harris. Feb 15, 1752: Jones Stokes of Surry County to William Rochell of Brunswick County for 40 shillings current money, 100 acres in Albemarle Parish on south side of raccoon Swamp (being part of a patent granted to Silvanus Stokes in 1732) and bounded by John Wilbond (sic), Arthur Freeman, and James Carter. Jan 30, 1753: William Rochell to James Hearn for 13 pounds current money, 100 acres in Albemarle Parish on south side of raccoon Swamp (being part of a tract granted to Silvanus Stokes in 1732 and is bounded by John Wilburn, Arthur freeman, and said Hearn.
