Sept. 12, 1743: In an action of trespass: Philip Roots (plaintiff) v. Richard Wilburn (defendant); it is ordered the action be dismissed (Court Order, p. 78)

Oct 10, 1743: Anne Johnson, Love Statham. And James Watson and Peter Curry petition for a road to be cleared called Christmas Road in this county (Louisa); Love Statham is appointed overseer and all the laboring males tithable belonging to Love Statham, Anne Johnson, and Richard Wilburn are allotted to assist in clearing the road and keeping it in repair. (Court Order, p. 80)

May 28, 1746: Richard Willborn v. Lawrence Redman, petition} dismissed at the defendant’s costs (Court Order, p. 192)

May 28, 1746: On the motion of William Starke, Gent, it is ordered that Joseph Williams, Richard Holt, Richard Wilborn, and William McDowell and the laboring male tithables belonging to each of them be added to the road whereof he is surveyor. (Court Order, p. 193)

Feb 23, 1748/48: On motion of Robert Anderson. It is ordered that a road be laid off and cleared, from Hickory Creek Bridge to the lower church, divided at James Roach’s plantation; and Robert Anderson is appointed overseer of the upper part; and all the male laboring titheable belonging to Joseph Pulliam’s quarter; Samuel Thompson; John Starke; John Poindexter’s quarter, Robert Ellis Jr.; Richard Wilburn; Temple’s quarter; William White’s quarter; and Elisha Ellis are allotted to the said Anderson to keep the same in repair; and Alexander Anderson is appointed overseer of the lower part; and all the laboring males titheable belonging to Garfield Brown; James Roach; David Roach; James Power’s quarter; Snelson’s (sic) quarter; Henry Milles; Edward Stringer, John Garland, and William Bennett are allotted to the said Freeman to keep his road in repair (Court Order, p. 250)

Feb 23, 1747/48: Richard Wilburn v. Benjamin Bibb, in trespass, assault and battery; dismissed by order of the plaintiff; then a repeat: Richard Wilburn v. Benjamin Bibb in a case, ordered dismissed by plaintiff (Court Order, p. 17)

May 24, 1747: Thomas Gresham of Fredericksville Parish, Louisa County, to John Mackcarty (sic) of same. 10 lbs money; 100 acres in Fredericksville Parish . . .James Johnson’s line . . .John Estes’ and sd. Gresham’s corner . . .on Estes’ line. Signed Thomas Gresham; wit Robt (X) Estes, John Estes, Richrd. (R) Wilburn, David (X) Hester; 25 Oct. 1747 acknowledged by Thomas Gresham. Aug 8, 1749: Thomas Gibson (alias Wilburn) and Mary his wife to Thomas Moreman, both of Louisa Co. Fredericksville Parish 100 lbs money; one acre, mill and all things necessary . . .both sides of Peter’s Cr, according to the record made to Thomas Gibson by Francis Smithing and bounded by Smithing’s ling; signed Thomas (T) Gibson, Mary (+) Gibson; wit: James Lasley, Fr. Smithson, James Buchanan, Geo. Holland; 26 Sept 1749 proved by oaths of Francis Smithson and James Lasley; further proved by oath of George Holland. (Deed Book A, p. 371)

Aug 8, 1749: Thomas Gibson (alias Wilburn) and Mary, to Thomas Moreman, both of Louisa Co. Fredericksville Parish 100 lbs (money); 134 acres of south fork of Pamunkey in Fredericksville Parish . . .line of James Johnson and Francis Smithson and Thomas Moreman and George Holland and Gilbert Gibson. Signed Thomas (T) Gibson, Mary (+) Gibson; wit: James Lasley, Fr. Smithson, James Buchanan, George Holland. 26 Sept 1749 proved by oaths of Francis Smithson and James Lasley. 27 Mar 1750 further proved by oath of George Holland (Deed Book A, p. 372)

Note: May 23, 1757: Thomas Gibson appears in a deed of David Anderson and Elizabeth his wife of Hanover Co. who sells to Benjamin Bibb of Louisa Co. Land bounds Gibson’s line wit: William Gooch, William Landrum, and William Anderson (Deed Book B p. 169-70)

Nov 7, 1752: Evan Ragland of Louisa Co. sells to Edward Ragland of New Kent Co. John Ragland, late of Hanover Co., dec’d, by his will bequeathed to two sons Evan and Edward 889 acres on south side of Anna River above Roundabout Creek to be equally divided between them, but land cannot be equally divided, so both agree to divide land in two unequal parts: 433 acres for Evan . . .beginning at River in Mrs. Johnson’s line . . .Richard Wilbourn’s corner . . .456 acres to Edward . . .Richard Wilbourn’s line . . .Rack Punch Spring branch. 23 May 1758: Lewis Welbourn of St. James Northam Parish, Goochland Co., planter, sells to Thomas Johnson of Drisdale Parish, Caroline Co., Gent. 21 lbs 10 s money. 210 acres in Fredericksville Parish, land and plantation . . . James Churchill’s and John Ragsland corner . . .Maj. Henry’s line . . .Mrs. Johnson’s line . . .Thomas Johnson’s corner; granted to said Welbourn by patent at William’sburg 25 June 1756. Jan 17, 1783: William White Jr. of Trinity Parish, Louisa County, and Catherine his wife to Maj. Thomas Johnson of same; 300 lbs; 450 acres of south side of Anna River at mouth of abranch near a place called Island Ford . . . corner to Edmund Stringer’s line, in Ragland’s line to Wilbon’s (sic) line, corner in said Johnson’s line on Wilbon’s (sic) branch to Johnson’s line up the river; land purchased of Nathan Watson; signed Wm White Jr. Cate White; wit: Jno.
