Nice write up. I’m a Hadley descendent through Mary Hadley and her son Ephraim Titus.

I love the details and history of the Hadleys. I, too, have discovered that I am a descendant of the Hadleys via Ruth Hadley who married Joseph Marshall. My grandmother was Pauline Drucilla Marshall. Ruth Hadley was her x4great grandmother. I recently moved from Texas to Delaware and very surprised to learn that I am living pretty close to where my ancestors lived. Wow! Thank you for this information!

Thank you! I have done more digging and found some astounding information that still leaves me smiling and laughing….let me see if I can explain what I found:
Joshua Hadley married Mary Rowland and they had 3 children. One child being Ruth who married John Marshall (John Marshall was my 6th grt grndfther)
Joshua and Mary’s 3rd born was Sarah who married Joseph Fredd. They had a child named Clarissa who then married Ephraim Bloxham. Their son was Joseph Thomas Bloxham. Joseph married a Lavina Knote. Joseph and Lavina had a daughter named Angeline who then married—JOHN MARSHALL -who descended from John Marshall and Ruth Hadley.
Oh it gets better….
Joshua’s second wife is Patience Brown. 9 more children were born to them. The eldest being Simon who married Bridget Foote. Their daughter was Ruth Hadley who – you guessed it….married JOSEPH MARSHALL…Another descendant of John Marshall and Ruth Hadley.
Unraveling this was fun and suprising. So, I have some deep Hadley connections for sure! I just wanted to share this. I realize it should have been no surprise the Quakers did indeed intermarry on many occassions. My grandmother was a Marshall but not a Quaker. She was a very reserved and staunchly religious lady however. Piecing together her ancestry helped me understand her much more! My search continues!
